Group travel 2023

We spent January in Kristinehamn and concluded the stay to decide that we cannot arrange a group travel program 2023 that meets our own expectations. The reason is the many ongoing activities and changes connected to our planned program. It is mostly good news since it will improve the attractivity of Kristinehamn long term. Here are the most important activities:

 

A new lakeview restaurant directly by the strait Vålösund is now finally under construction. We have talked to the new owners and the plan is a preopening in July, but everything will not be ready during this summer. The ambitions are very high; to become the best sea restaurant in lake Vänern. They will built their own guest harbour and nice outside lounges in front of the restaurant and regularly offer entertainment and music additional to good food and wine.

 

The already existing bistro Picassos Veranda plan to expand to become a full restaurant kitchen. It has already become the peoples favourite and since the takeover two years ago a lot has happened. Gourmet evenings, Wine tasting events, weekend brunches, Octoberfest, Christmas table are just some examples. We regularly go there for after work to meet up with neighbours and friends.

 

Christine af Bro, the replica of a sailing ship used here during 1600-1800 to ship iron to Europe will not be in the water 2023. Necessary restorations are being made and it is not finally decided when and if she will run again. Luckily, we found two creative guys who bought an old ship used for gourmet trips in other places and now put her in Kristinehamn. They are restoring her this winter with the target to be able to test her during the summer. We talked about our targets to build it into our program but summer 23 will be too early.

 

Our planned accommodation at Ölme prästgård (Preachers Manor) got a new owner family in October 2022. They moved in and run the hotel and the restaurant. It was one of the best restaurants in Värmland and the new ambition is to make it even better but it was just too early to plan 2023 when we talked to them in October and in January thez were on vacation.

 

We will use 2023 to support individual travel for Swiss people who want to visit the fantastic region already this year. February and March are good month to plan and book. We will in Kristinehamn from end of June to beginning of August to test activities and just enjoy life.
